What is Primary Care Rapid Access Support and Help?
Primary Care Rapid Access to Support and Help creates priority access to mental and physical healthcare services for NHS Primary Care colleagues who are identified as necessary to the delivery patient care.  We will support you to access care quickly when you need it.  This service is for those who work in General Practice and in Pharmacy.

Why do we need Primary Care Rapid Access Support and Help?
Primary Care is under unprecedented pressure with increased demand and a strain on limited resources.  To help maintain the health and productivity of our Primary Care colleagues Doncaster LMC have created Primary Care Rapid Access Support and Help with the help of a grant from NHS Doncaster CCG.  Our aim is support people to continue working or to return to work as soon as possible.

How does it work?
1.      Colleague self refers to Doncaster LMC.
2.      Doncaster LMC assess suitability for Primary Care Rapid Access Support and Help according to the eligibility criteria.
3.      Doncaster LMC assist referral of colleague for priority access support and help.

Who is eligible?
The colleague
·        is a current NHS employee or a self-employed contractor to the NHS
·        is working in Primary Care in Doncaster (General Practice, Pharmacy or PCN additional roles)
·        is necessary for the delivery of patient care
·        has a physical or mental health complaint[AN1]  that impairs their ability to work or otherwise impacts upon workplace productivity
and (the candidate) having discussed the complaint with their GP, PWP (Psychology Wellbeing Practitioner) or appropriate other clinician, feels it requires referral for specialist assessment or treatment
·        Provides written consent to the terms of service of Primary Care Rapid Access Support and Help

FAQs

Will it cost me anything?
No.  Doncaster LMC will pay for Primary Care Rapid Access Support and Help courtesy of a grant from NHS Doncaster CCG.
 
How quickly can I be seen?
Doncaster LMC will assist you to book the first available appointment.  The aim of Primary Care Rapid Access Support and Help is to provide rapid support and help and so we expect an urgent appointment.
 
Is it confidential?
Yes.  Doncaster LMC will not share or retain your details with anyone without your prior consent.  Sharing of your personal details is not required by us.
 
What treatment is available?
Primary Care Rapid Access Support and Help entitles you to access an urgent outpatient appointment, a course of counselling or a course of physiotherapy.  It is expected that further investigations or treatment will be undertaken by the NHS.
 
Where will I be seen?
Doncaster LMC is not limited to the service of one provider.  If you would like to access assessment or treatment outside of the Doncaster region, we can assist to arrange that.
 
How is the service going to be evaluated?
Colleagues who use the Primary Care Rapid Access Support and Help service will be asked to complete PHQ9, GAD7, and EQ5D questionnaires before and after accessing the service.  This is for the purpose of service evaluation and will not be used for triage or health assessment.
